It's not getting easier! I'm still having trouble trying to figure out what to do with the extra lengths of wire, and trying to make curlies - well, they don't call me "fumble fingers" for nuthin'! I think this is rhodonite. Satin finish was the best I could get on it with my limited skills and equipment. Thanks for looking, Tom

You know what...I like it. The only thing I might suggest is to make the curlie bit on the right side a bit smaller and over witht he one going across the stone. I like what you did to bind the stone and the curlies at the top. They do take practice to get the hang of. Good job! Becky

I've still only done a handful of real wraps, not grooved, so I struggle with design too. At least you have more flair than I do. Keep on wrapping and you will get better.

Very pretty. You have a good flow at the top thru the side. It gets easier the more you wrap.

TK: I think you have rhodochrosite there, rhodonite usually has the black splotches in it? Was it very soft? IF so it is rhodochrosite! Beautiful wrap and cab! I like it!

Amber, when I cut the cab on the WF, it sure didn't act soft, and when I ground the shape on the grinder, it was not easy. But I'm guessing it's soft, because - hey, what the heck do I know? All I really know is it's pink. And I don't remember getting any rhodocrosite. But then, my memory is ..... wait - what's the question? Tom PS - it has a few little charcoal-looking splotches - do they count?

Well, Amber, I think you are correct. I found some pics of both rhodochrosite and rhodonite slabs on eBay, and compared them to what I have, and it sure looks a lot more like the rhodochrosite. Good call!
See, you folks are forcing this old man to learn new tricks! ;D Keep on telling me where I'm mistaken - I love to learn, and the comments really do help me.

Wow Tom, looks to me like you are getting the wrapping down pretty good. Far better than I have. So far, I am sticking with the groove wrap style, and I struggle with that. Keep up the good work, you inspire me to keep on practicing too. Thanks;
Mike
