Hey everone! Longtime no see We got rained out of our camping trip in the Owyhees with John (pebblepup) last weekend so Tuesday Bruce and I went looking around a Snively Hot Springs. Bruce found a couple of interesting rocks that might have been tossed aside except for the pattern in them. He cut into one yesterday and made a little cab. It shines really nice so this pic does not do it justice. We are wondering if anyone has an idea what it might be? Dino poop or bone??? Or?

Dunno what it is, but it reminds me of something I've seen called "zebra stone", or "zebra jasper". But that's just a SWAG. How're you doing? Well, I hope. Tom

Tomorrow is the other biopsy, I hope it goes as well as the last. I hate pain but they will give me drugs! Surgery is still the 26th. This coming weekend will probably be my last rock hunting trip for awhile so I will haul in lots of rocks ;D

Looks like fascinating stuff Nancy,
I agree it has the appearance of Zebra Agate, was it particularly hard when you cut in to it? Looks like a super cab nonetheless! I got some limestone from North Wales that had similar looking patterns too. Good luck with the rock hunting, make hay while the sun shines Buddy, and I hope all goes well. Take Care!
Cheers,
Harry.

I don't think that is a zebra stone. It looks more quartzie to me with some inclusions. I love the pattern and not matter what it is, it sure turned out nice! Good luck with the biopsy and surgery Nancy! I hope you receive nothing but the best possible outcomes on both!... I mean the biopsy and the surgery, not the other both...Well, you know what I mean. Good Luck! You will be in my prayers! Fran
