Man, that is colorful stuff and I love to cab it but I've destroyed more saw blades trying to cut the rainbow wood than with anything else. Some of those fractures inherent in the material just flat blow apart in the vice!.....Mel

I have also messed up a few blades, the worse part is after slabbing, you pick out a nice slab to cab, you shape it and start working it down and a crack shows up. The pile where I was had about 50 ton of wood in it and out of that you may get 2 ton worth slabbing for cabs. I cut with the grain, here is a slab with out fractures, so far. I have also found even tumbling it falls apart and chips.

I have a love/hate relationship with AZ wood. It's gorgeous and it's hell to work with.

I thought it was me, I tried to cut some little slabetts on my 6.5 in trim saw and it took for ever. By accident I put a walnut size piece of it (sharp corners) in with my second run of 60-90 with a batch of Jasper and Chalcedony and whack whack whack! - chips and dings every where. Karock
