I'll be visiting relatives in Seattle this October and would like to meet up with local rockhounds that have reasonably priced rough and/or slabs for sale. I make cabs & belt buckles so am looking for pieces that are larger than tumbling size.
Anybody out there?!
Thanks, Joy

Joy: Maybe not what you are really looking for, but Jerry's Rock Shop in Kent (just east of SeaTac airport) has some pretty nice rough, and some slab boxes that have a good selection..if they have any. They do stock nice material.

Depending upon your definition of "near Seattle," there is a great rock shop in Ellensburg, about two hours away--I think it's called Beads and Agates, or some such. There are numerous bins full of rough and rough slabs of all types and colors, including those they have collected. Very nice selection, fairly good prices.
