Have been away from my rocks for a couple years and I find I need a new 10" blade for my old slab saw. Never having bought one before, I don't know what size rim and core to buy. Am thinking about a Barranca. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Lori : )

Lori: For ten inch blades, I prefer the high quality MK 303 continuous rim blades. They cut fast and very smooth. The Criterion and MK301 are notched rim blades and work fairly well with the Criterion being the cheaper blade. Think I like the 303 better though I've used all three in the past. I have a Criterion on my 10" now. It works real well on softer stone but not as good on agate etc. Make sure and measure your shaft too as they often come in several hole sizes. Choose thinner kerf ( cutting thickness) blades for expensive stuff and thicker for cheaper but tougher materials. The thin blades are more prone towards dishing.....Mel

Yes, as Mel says 303C is a fantastic blade. The 301 was replaced 2 years ago with a "new" 301 made in same Korean factory as the 303C with added notched segments in the core. Both are great. If you have a power feed I'd recommend a .040" and if hand feeding the .032" would conserve material.

Thanks for the info. everyone. I really appreciate it. Will order one from Kingsley North tonight. Got to do my part to help the Michigan economy, you know.
Happy day to you,
