i just bought some of this. he called it mexican saganite. Do you all think thats correct? I can't find nothing on the internet, maybe i'm spelling it wrong? ty mary ann

I really don't know Maryann. It really doesn't look like it to me by I am not great at this. Maybe in that top one, the yellow area may show it more once you cut a few slabs and the bottom one could be referring to the bottom part of the stone but the pitty area with the beautiful agate and red looks different to me. I am going to love to see the slices you get off of these. Fran

Sagenite usually refers to agate with pseudomorphs or inclusions of acicular ( hair like or needle like) crystals. Yours doesn't look like any of the Mexican material I have but then under more magnification, the needles might show up better........Mel

1st glance I'd say no. The Sagenite I have has very definite needle-like inclusions.......very visible. But like Mel said, there might be some visible under magnification. I think I would just sell it as agate though just to make sure people arent mislead.
