Here we have some very interesting stuff! LOL Chalcedony is a cryptocrystalline form of silica, composed of very fine intergrowths of the minerals quartz and moganite[2]. These are both silica minerals, but they differ in that quartz has a trigonal crystal structure, whilst moganite is monoclinic.
Chalcedony has a waxy luster, and may be semitransparent or translucent. It can assume a wide range of colors, but those most commonly seen are white to gray, grayish-blue or a shade of brown ranging from pale to nearly black. -- WikipediaI will have a few boxes of this available. The small flat raters will be $ 35 $25.00 which will include shipping! I will fill the box to the brim! This is part of the 1930's stash I came across. The colors are mostly white but some light pink and purples are in the mix. Some pieces might have some fire in them but I would not count on it. Just PM me if you would like a box. This is what you find sometimes when you cut it!

Ooh! We use to call those formations " Desert Roses". MY folks used to take me to a spot out on old Route 66 to hunt those when I was in grade school....Mel
