Hey everyone.... I've been gone a few days, computer's power supply went out, but I got another one, so I'm back ..... This might be my favorite wrap so far..... The cab is a really cool boulder opal by Tony Terner.... I wanted to do something simple looking to just show off the stone.... this is what I came up with.... and the back.... This one is more complicated than it looks..... I used 21 gauge gold filled square and 24 gauge silver half round for the binds ( I still don't have any half round in gold ). I used 4 pieces of wire for this one, which left me with 8 ends at the top to hide ( to keep it clean ). I also wanted to hide as much of the silver as possible, notice the large binds at the bottom. I also managed to pretty much hide the binds on the bail too... looks like a little ram head .... Here's a pic of the bottom too so you can see what holds the stone in, also a better view of how I " hid " the large binds at the bottom... Well, how did I do Tony? And everyone else .......

Oh... by the way, I actually broke the stone after I finished this wrap !!! The wires that curve up to hold the tip ( at the bottom ) were a little loose... so I grabbed my flat nose pliers, squeezed them together a little ( the wrap was done, stone was in ) and heard a pop.... Just the very tip broke..... It's still in there ( the pics were taken after I broke it ) and isn't going anywhere.... I added a little dab of super glue to the back just to make sure , you can see it in the back picture.... Sorry Tony...... ;D

I've been missing your ingenuity Chris. Glad you got a new computer. This sweetie is just like all your others, Super. I love how it looks suspended in the frame and the silver bindings with the gold wire goes great with the color pattern of the Opal.

Your wrap outshines that stone, which I was disappointed in. I know how you love the B.O.

I haven't seen your wraps for awhile. Great-looking wrap - you must've been practicing! I like the way the twisted wire on top of the stone is the inverse outline of the stone itself. Garry

Nice wrap and nice stone! I know Tony says he was disappointed in it, but I love the pattern in the lower 3rd. Sometimes they break across the sand areas and it helps me make a better stone. I've finally gotten to where I just cut away the sand. Makes for smaller stones but really nice patterns T
