There are a couple of places you can get wire for practicing. Most reccomend copper wire, from Brandywine. You can also get wire from Firemountaingems, which is where I bought mine.

I get mine from Monsterslayer.com or Rio Grande. Monsterslayer is usually a bit cheaper but doesn't carry gold in half round. Never heard of Brandywine so I don't know about their prices. Prices can vary greatly and fluctuate daily.

I get all of mine from Rio Grande, or Brandywine if you're looking for copper wire.

I buy all of mine from monsterslayer.com. I likw their selection and the shipping is fast. I have been completely satisfied with them.
Also thunderbirdsupply.com is another that I have heard mention of. I almost bought there but I like the selection at monsterslayer better for what I want.

mosterslayer, thunderbirdsupply, & brandywinejewelrysupply.com are all good sources. Rio Grand is great too...specially for buying large quantities of silver or gold wire. Brandywine is known for its assortment of copper wire which I prefer my students to start with. I also have some info for newbies on my site here: www.keystonejewelry.com/make-jewelry.htmENJOY!
