A few weeks ago, I asked Nate for his address to send him some rock, I knew he was new to the hobby and had children that were into the hobby with him! Well he wanted to pay for shipping, blah blah, and finally I said someday send me a cab to put in my friend collection and we will call it even! Well a few weeks ago, after a terrible work day, I got this box that had the most beautiful note in it, and not 1 but 4 cabs!!!! Nate is a great guy and his pics and mine do not do his skills justice, he gets a great shine, nice dome and a nice even girlde!!! Nate I wish you and the family many good times together sharing your love of rocks, and I am so lucky to call you a friend!!!! Amber This one is my favorite!!!!

Those are great Amber! Nate did a great job on them! Is that second one a pet wood? Kind of has the look of it! Fran

Amber, Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked the cabs. I don't feel like it's anything close to payment for what you sent. I look through that box all the time wondering what to do next. Your friendship is a highlight as well!
Steve, Go figure you have to ask about that one LOL. I don't know what that rock is, I even asked Amber. It seemed softer than an agate on the saw, but was nice to work, and took a great shine. We'll figure it out eventually.
Fran, that 2nd one was labeled fairburn agate. It was about fist sized, and I slabbed about half of it before I found that piece.
The first tear drop shaped one was very soft. It felt like I was cabbing a piece of chalk. I thought the pattern was interesting, and I'm glad I worked it for the experience with a softer material.
The last is the same white agate I cabbed for my wife. It's got really cool lines in it, but it's sooo hard to photograph. I had cabbed this piece and planned on sending it to Amber, then she commented how much she loves white stones in my wife's cab thread. I thought "YES!!! I picked her favorite to send!"
Thanks again!
Nate
