Tried a groove wrap on this one - I don't know what the stone is, hoping somebody can tell me. Thanks, Tom

OOOHH! O know not what it is, but I like it! Very pretty stone! Like the groove wrap too, seems to fit. Marie

Agatized pitch - I don't know, I guess it could be.
Note: this isn't a contest - I really really want to know what this stone is, so maybe I can find some more of it for sale someplace!

Tom Here in Oregon on the green side just out side of Scio,Oregon agatized pitch is common,Dark Red Mix in and through out the Petrified wood. And i`m not thinking Jasper, it is Pitch. Though a lot of Petrified wood in the area of Lebanon,Oregon has Blue seam agate too. picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/j7F0s7iDoWnONfN3hGMw9g?authkey=Gv1sRgCKGY-P6auPi-Gg&feat=directlink This material is from the Calapooia River west of Sweethome,Oregon. At top of split is the pitch area. In the photo.

Nice one Tom. Your wire is really even around the edge and the twist goes really well with the stone even if I don't know what it is.
