I was so surprised to hear form Mike last week when he said that he wanted to send me one of his girdle markers that he has been making! I didn't notice his post in homemade equipment and was tickled to be getting one, since I can't mark a straight line ever on my cabs, LOL! Well he sent not 1 but 2, I suspect one for Tony, LOL! Which is good cause now I can use it at his house as well! And he sent some beautiful slabs!!!!And 2 of the shinest lace cabs, Mike just started cabbing and he gets an incredible shine on his cabs! Mike, you rock!!! Get those posted on the buy and sell, they work great!! I used it all day Sunday and it was so easy, how I use to struggle! I bet you can make a deal with him!!!! Mike we will hook up soon! Hopefully at our East Coast Convention on maybe Burro Creek? ? Thanks again!!!! Amber These work great!!! Beautiful slab I am hoping Mel can ID? Some beautiful cabs!!! Tony is making me bails tonight!

Nice slabs Amber! We have a girdle marker as well. Dennis is always trying to get me to use it. I still prefer the table and a sharpie myself LOL.

OK, I think I am a little slow but how exactly does it work? Does the silver ring leave a mark on the stone and does the black knob turn it? Those cabs have a great shine! Fran

Fran,
The knob adjusts the height, to wherever you want your girdle. Then the mark is left with either a disc or stylus of some sort. Ours has just a little metal pin type thing sticking out that marks the line.

Amber,I'm glad you and Tony like the markers. If anyone wants one just let me know.Woodyrock came up with the idea and posted it back in June and I had it on my to do list for awhile and finally got around to making one when I started cabbing. Mel was right as always.I bought some Flint Ridge way back before I built my big saw.I tumbled some and the rest ended up in the "unknown" pile. The outside of the rock was very plain,I was really surprised to see all those colors when I started cutting it.

Mike: It works so well I could figure it out, well OK, Tony did have to explain, LOL!!!! Seriously it woks like a charm, all the coffee I drink I can never get a straight line with a sharpie, LOL, then Tony looks at them and says, were you drunk, LOL, and I say no on caffeine! So that spiderweb I made was with your marker and it was the best dome and girdle I have done in a while so you get full credit!!!!! I am glad we got 2 cause I will always use it!!!!!! Amber
