Steve: I did pick up some Bat Cave material in the talus below one of the caves. However, when I get some of the Rim Jasper slabbed, and cabbed you will see why most of the day was spent up on the rim. The Bat Cave material is great, and takes a killer polish, but the colours in the Rim material are outstanding. Woody

Boy that looks fun. The bat caves are on my list of places to go. I think next summer when the Prineville or Madras pow-wows are happening I will go there. Hope to see some examples of what you collected soon.

I can't wait to get back down there. I was working on the exact vertical seam you guys are pictured at. The red vein near the bottom almost looks like dense agate. There is another seam down the hill and to the right that was really nice as well. Dan

Dan:
Jerry, and I each found one end at the same time, and dug the junk off the top........I know this since I got bored busting basalt to get the material out, then Mosseyrockhound, and Chasfire worked the vein deeper, and the material got much better. Now, I am not complaining about the material I got, but it was for sure getting better deeper. Next time bigger tools! It will be a b humping them up there, but well worth the effort. Woody

The hardest part for me was hauling the buckets down the hill, tough on the knees. I can't wait to see what you got cut up. There is some beautiful material up there. Dan

LOL, taking the mountains down one bucketful at a time. Good cardio and strength workout.
