I WANT TO START CUTTING MY OWN ROCKS. IF YOU READ MY OTHER POST-IT YOU KNOW THAT I HAVE A GOOD START ON ROCKS. I LIKE TO DO SOME CABS BUT NOT QUITE SURE ON WHAT IS A GOOD ROCK/TRIM SAW. ALSO CAN A REGULAR GRINDER WITH SILICONE CARBINE WHEELS WORK? PLEASE GIVE ME SOME IMPUT.

GOOD HELP! THANKS SANDMAN. I THINK MY FIRST BUY IS GOING TO BE A SAW BUT I DONT KNOW IF I SHOULD BUY A TRIM SAW OR A ROCK SAW. THE ROCKS I HAVE ARE ONLY ABOUT 4 INCHES HIGH AT THE MOST. WILL A TRIM SAW WORK FOR THAT? NEED IMPUT

what ive seen is for a 4inch thick rock you need like 8 to 10 inch blade saw.remember you only cut with less then half the length of the blade so fig like a 8 inch blade you get about a 3 inch cut maybe a hair more so think about that befor you buy ok seeya john

Tile saws are great for general cutting stones. The kerf is large, and the saw makes a mess. Trim saws are much finer. I use a 6" loretone combination station for cutting and grinding. I used an inexpensive tile saw for a long time. I did not need the finer blades untill I started cutting cabachons and facet rough. A tile saw will work.

CABOCHONS ARE WHAT I WANT TO DO. SO WITH THE SIZE OF ROCKS I GOT DO I NEED A ROCK SAW OR WILL A NICE TRIM SAW WORK?

hi shorty here could you use a thiner blade on your trim saw.. i have a trim s and i was wondering that or does it turn to fast. thanks shorty
