Hi all I was fortunate to be working out of town near the jade fields and got to do a bit of jade hunting during my lunch break, managed to stumble across some good sized pieces of nice dark olive jade....baseball is for scale...

Good news - jade. Bad news - that's your bonus for the year. Nice find.

Yeah, we don't get bonuses...lol...well at least I have enough dark olive to slab and work with for a long, long time I probably won't slab the big piece...it's partailly wind polished and finding a chunk that size is pretty rare...I'll leave that one as it is I think...

yeah, it was a good lunch break Of all the jade hunts I've been on, that one was by far the most productive in the shortest time...I think I got roughly 75-100lbs of jade there, in less than an hour...normally I'll walk all day on a jade hunt and leave with about 2-3 decent pieces totalling 10 lbs or so...I just got lucky and stumbled across a concentrated group of them in the rubble at the base of the mountain, no doubt all eroded from the same vein...

No, I found those east of where we hunted, up the Dry Creek road, which is on the Casper side of Independence Rock off of Hwy. 220. Almost all of the jade up there is of the dark olive green variety.
