Looks like it will work. The hose around it won't work. Looks like you used a 5 gallon bucket bottom under the lap. If you can find the upper part of that bucket, use a band of it to go around the lower part to make a wall about 1/4" highet than the laps. This will give you room to work on the stones. If you can slot the screw holes on the outside part, you can make it adjustable for height. Just my 2 cents worth. Hope it helps.

Thanks, I used a 30 gal drum for the base,I might go down to a 5 gal bucket. However I have an 8'' disc but I also have a 12'' disc I wanted to use either one.The exhaust hose I used is ok comfortable to rest arms on.I do still have the band to put on the top later. Thanks for the advice.

Cool!I made mine out of a 5 gallon bucket and I ended up cutting it down like Rockmanken said and it is much easier to work with.

Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing.

I did use the cork gasket to seal the arbor I used a belt sander to make a flat surface.I did cut the top rim off the barrell and screwed it on the top.It fits great but mist floats every where so I put the hose back on and the mist is gone.I'll get something made to post asap.
Thanks Roger

Great looking lap Roger! I've been thinking of adding speed reduction to mine too, with a very similar design.
