Hi everyone, I'm Lynn I'm 13 years old and just started this new hobby. I bought some polished stones from a flea market because they were so pretty and my mom said we could polish our own rocks with a rock tumbler, so I bought a Thumler Model T. It came with rocks to tumble and my first batch was very disappointing, I wanted to return my tumbler. But then my Mom and I found this site, did some reading, picked up some tips, went to the beach and collected some rocks and tried again. Thanks to all the great tips on this board I think I have shiny rocks. When I can figure out how, I will post pictures.

Welcome Lynn. We have found this is the best web area to talk about rocks, ask questions and show pictures of your works, finds and projects. We do like this site. Top-notch forum. Debby and Tom

Thumblers rock tumblers are the best of the best, you'll be able to turn out many perfect batches once you figure out how. The most important thing will be the rocks that you're trying to tumble. Some rocks aren't capable of taking a shine. Jaspers and agates take longer in the first stage but will shine like glass every tine if tumbled properly. If your results aren't what you hoped for, post pics!! We can usually figure out what needs to be done to get them to shine. Good luck!!
