I've seen those recommended in a book on wire wrapping, but don't have any experience with them. I'd like to try a pair.

I have a pair of non-stepped bail pliers. I like them, but I'm just as likely to grab a pencil (or knitting needle, or whatever is handy) as I am to use my pliers.

Thanks. I think I'll get both kinds because my wife will probably find a use for them too. I won't be able to get any until after the craft fair this Sat. (maybe i"ll sell enough to be able to afford them).

I have two pairs and I don't know how to live without them. They are also good for larger spirals, not just bails.

I guess it depends how mad you are at your money. I have found really no need for any kind of pliers for loops larger than the tips of my round-nose pliers. I just have different sized dowels which work great and saves a bunch of money. The person I met that does wrapping said his magic bail tool was a plain bic ball-point pen. My personal opinion is bail tools are a waste of money.

I have bail pliers that I got from brandywinejewelrysupply.com and I love them. I use them for more than making bails. I also have the step pliers that was asked about. I don't use those at all.
So...it is a matter of tastes. Everyone is different and will use different tools as well as techniques. There is no wrong or right here. ;D
