Hello all. Well I haven't posted any wraps in a while. I haven't stopped wrapping, just got lazy with the picture taking. I have about 14 to get pictures of and posted so I'll be posting those as soon as I get the pictures edited. I tried a different lighting method with these shots so they me be good or bad, I'm not good at judging pictures. Here are two to start. The first is a botswana agate in sterling silver and the second is a Lake Ontario beach rock in 12k gold filled. As always, I'm cool with the brutal truth, so don't be afraid to let me know if they need help. Thanks for taking a look.

Larry, I think those are very pretty.
One thing you might do if you haven't already (and this isn't criticism, just a suggestion), is just take a piece of cloth of some sort - like a polishing rag - and just draw it across the pendants and see if anything snags it. The open wire ends might catch on clothes. If they do, just take a fine file and smooth them out a bit. Other than that, I wouldn't do anything else to them. WTG!

Thanks for the advice Tom. I'll give that a try and see what happens. I do the feel test for edges and file those and make sure the wires on the back won't irritate a bare neck but always forget about the clothes thing. And even if it was criticism, that's fine with me. Not many things bother me so fire away I'm my own harshest critic. Like the bots one, the curves on the right side of the top are not curved perfectly enough as compared to the other side. That's something I notice. Those are things that make me wrap 1-2 a week versus 1-2 a day and why my art aspirations were short lived. Perfectionists are slow

Larry I think #1 is great, love the stone you did a good job on the wrap, the bail is even your curves are even on both sides, very pretty. #2 the bottom seems off center or did you mean it to be, or it could be the picture. Donna

Larry, That Botswana is breathtaking. Love the wrap too. It really shows off the stone. Jo

Thanks for the nice comments everybody! I've been forcing myself to do more beach rocks lately. I like that I can make something that can never have a name except a pretty rock. And botswanas are one of my 3 favorites (along with noreena and malachite) and I finally got 5 lbs of them after a year of just wanting them. I just have to keep under control or I'll do nothing but bots for the next couple of months. Donna, the wrap was planned with the bind off-center. Not in the "uh-oh it's off a little and let's fake it" kind of way, but really was meant to be that way. I like to work with off-center binds as a style choice. The only time I run into issues is if it's just a tad off center but the rest is symmetrical... then it looks like I just screwed up. Thanks again for the feedback. I do appreciate it.

Love the bot - and the wraps. I'd just use something plainer for a backdrop on the pics. It draws the eye from your art.

On the Bots, the left side of the bail is a tad shorter...I'd bring in those curls all the way to the bail wrap wires, as open spaces like that catch on long hair and such (I know!). When (or if)you bring in the smaller curl, cut a smidgen off first. That will make it the same size as the other side...the rest will all be just fine. Lovely Bots and all around great wrap other wise. The beach rock is cool...I'd just take some flat nose and get some of the crimps out of the holding wires. I have used dowels to help start my larger curls...helps with the direction flow and to keep the square wire from going off square. Really nice job! Tumbling pieces really help set the wire and give it a great shine. More on tumbling here: www.keystonejewelry.com/tumbling.htmHope this helps...

Thanks a bunch Nancy. I appreciate the advice and will try those changes. Toad, I am experimenting with backgrounds but just haven't found the right one yet. This one is simpler than some of my previous but I think I'm just going to photograph on a white sheet and get done fussing with it.

Solid white or black should work with most.
