Well, epic for me! This is a piece of crazy lace from Ralph and Maryanne. 20ga square half-hard silver wire wire with 21ga half round half hard wire. Made it for our daughter in laws' b-day this weekend. Still awful slow at this type of wrap. And, I am getting some tool marks on the wire. Any ideas on how to fix that problem? And, I am really frustrated with how the sides are not even. Hopefully I will improve on that. Anyhow; here is the front: And, the back; Thank you for looking, Mike

That's very pretty! I don't know why you think the sides need to be even - it's gorgeous just like it is! Tool marks: if you find out how to avoid them, let me know, ok? I wrap the plier jaws with tape after filing them smooth, and use only dead soft square wire, and use only teflon-jawed pliers to do the crimping and stuff, and still I get tool marks. Tom

I think it looks good like it is! I have found that it makes it easier to get the sides even if you make your bottom binding go ALMOST to each side of the stone, not quite all the way edge to edge. The tool marks I get too, but have been using a nail file to get them smoothed back out again. Just my 2 cents. Marie

Looks good! Don't sweat the evenness. YOu can use tool dip, but I find I just like a bare tool to work with. Sanding out the marks with ever finer grits is one way to go. Tony

WOW that is beautiful, I would just maybe suggest clipping the ends of the bail or file as suggested so they don't catch or pull her clothing, but I think it is really beautiful, and you are doing super.

I think you are doing a really good job. Tools marks are usually caused from too tight a grip on the pliers...happens when frustration is added. ;D It is hard for most people to lighten up that grip...shoot, when I got Lindstrom pliers...I had to REALLY lighten up. I had tool marks that I hadn't had in years. dang... Oh yea, tumbling helps get rid of them if they aren't too bad. I don't see any bad ones on this pendant. Here are some tumbling tips: www.keystonejewelry.com/tumbliing.htmThey best way to get eveness is to use quilters tape and go around your stone...then mark where you want the Prongs or whatever to be...take the tape off and lay it out...you now have the pattern you need. This is what I do anywho. ;D

Great Cab you did a great job on it, I like your wrap also you are doing a great job, speed comes with practice and time. Tool marks some where I have instructions on tumbling with steel ball bearings for a few minutes it also hardens the wire. I do remember you have to have a set for silver and a set for gold. Maybe someone can give instructions without me looking it up. I ordered the ball bearings from rock shed but never used them. Donna

Beautiful pendant, regarding both the stone and the wrap.
