Roger: Awesome, thanks for posting. That is a grade A example of Blue Biggs. Since it's already sawn at the top and bottom you could try a flat lap intarsia framing with Black Jade. You'd just need to lap the other two sides up, glue, flat lap and polish. It would make some knock-out cabs, but you'd lose that cool canyon effect in the middle. I have quite a bit of Blue Biggs, but pieces that nice are rare. Dan

Roger Clint from StoneViews is where I've been getting mine. He sent me 1/4" slabs and I cut them into strips.

Very nice - I live about 15 minutes from where they dug that material! I know all the owners of the current mine and you never see anything like this now-a-days. Good pieces like this one are hard to come by. I have a couple pieces I have hoarded away (will have to post pics).... I have several outstanding chunks like this and recently sold them to a fellow back east.
I know a old timer in my home town who has a slab looks much like this but with an awesome blue color... However the slab has to be about 8" x 12" one of the largest I have ever seen.

Heck no I think cut them all up LOL.... then the slabs I have left will go up in value and help supplement my retirement in another 40 years hehe ;D - Somewhere down the line the old blue will become very rare. Biggs is still readily available from friends of mine who own the mines, however they don't compare to the old material Yeah to be honest if it was me - I'd polish the slab just like it is and make a collection piece. Slabs give you the entire perspective of how this material was formed. Then again is Rogers slabs and he'll do as he pleases Jason

Here's a few specimens from my personal collection. Enjoy! This one is displayed in a 8" x 12" Riker Case (for size reference) This is a cab I cut several years back - Had a buddy wrap it for me and have refused many offers to buy lol.

Great looking material. I can see why you refused to sell the wrapped cab.

I didn't even notice what was in the background until you said that, but had to go back and look. That Biggs is beautiful and so are the other rocks in the pic. Nice pics from you too Rockhound. Not only is that Biggs gorgeous but I had to drool at what you had in the background of that shot! Holy Moly!
