In my last wire wrapping post, moondragon suggested I might try some brooches......which got me thinking, again! So I thought about it all day yesterday, and last night and tonight I put these 2 together. Hope they are at least decent? My first - some sort of MN jasper, not a lot of color in this stuff My 2nd - agate (laker) in hematite Ok, let the voices speak! I have some brooch pins (glue on type) somewhere, but haven't been able to find them, they would be hidden anyways, being glued on the backs of these. Thanks for lookin' Marie

Those are unbelievable! You must be a master wrapper, I can't even begin to figure out how you did those. Really nice work.

Wonderful wraps, Marie! Of course, you know, don't you, that once you do find the pins and get them glued on, you have to reward us with photos of the backs too, right? ;D

Thanks Mike & Tom! Nope not..BY A LONG SHOT..a master wrapper! I have a LOOOOOOONG ways to go!! Hey Tom - The backs of these have nothing on them, just the prongs holding the stone, that's it. Well, and, if & when I find the pins, those will be glued on there, but that's it. The first one I had a cpl wires I wasn't sure what to do with, so I just made a small loop on the back side of the top binding, but nothing hanging down. Thanks again guys! Marie

Ohhh Marie, I love that second one, what a great job and yes you are a master wrapper! Look at AC Moore or Michaels they have brooch pins to glue on, you should be able to find them easily! Super job! Amber

Thanks everyone! I really loved making that 2nd one. The first was a trial and error thing, see if I could do it. The one is a little frilly, but I think if a person is going to wear a brooch, it would need to be a little frilly anyways. Don't you? So, I figured if I was gonna do frilly...might as well go all the way with it!! LOL Thanks again everyone!! Marie

Wow, you really took flight with Moondragon's idea so Kudos to both of you. Marie, they are both lovely and that second one is just amazing. It will give any article of clothing that extra touch of pizzaz.

Marie, Honey Chile:) When I saw these chills went up my arms and back:) They are truly awesome. I knew you could do it:) Do you have a boutique or place you can show them to sell? I dont want you selling these for nothing. These are beautiful and will make someone happy for many years to wear them. They are perfect. Business suits are so boring and these pins will brighten up anyone's day and I always wear a pin on my heavy coats for winter. They could even be worn on hats:)

UGGGGH Randy! Did you HAVE to remind me like that??? !! LOL And thanks! But I probably have a lot more time on my hands than you do Randy! So I get lots of practice!! Thanks Lori! Moondragon - nope no other place to sell anything other than right here on RTH. When summer hits, I will be at the flea market every Saturday, but other than that....this is it. I'm glad you like them! I still cannot find those stinkin pins to put on them tho! I don't know where I put them....ugggh! I may have to go buy more if I can't find them! Thanks again everyone!! Way to go! I too have to make some brooches...cause I added a section on my new site (not uploaded yet). I also have to make some rings (ugh) cause I did the same thing. lol Anywho, I really like the first one. You can make your own pin backs... on my site I have a tut for a heart one, but you can modify it to make a plain one that can be wired onto the back of your soon to be brooches. Here is the link: www.keystonejewelry.com/id52.htmHope this helps.

O poop...sure you can. You are doing exactly what it takes...practice. The more you make wire jewelry, the more honed your skills will become. Hugs, Nancy F
