Here's my first try at groove wraps. The grooving bit I used was too wide and the grooves I cut were a little to shallow but I couldn't resist giving it a shot.I used 18ga copper wire.I was hoping to get rid of some of the tool marks with my Dremel but it went up in smoke on the first wrap. These are tumbled cabs. This is the first one I did,Boysenberry Jasper Number Two-Pet Wood Number Three-Crazy Lace Number Four-Crazy Lace Last One-also Crazy Lace,I like this one the best I think I see where I made my mistakes so I hope the next ones come out a little better.Adrians Tutorial was a big help and was actually what made me decide to give it a try.I also got some coaching from Amber and Tony. Thanks everyone that helped me get addicted to this! They're nice! I got the 1.4mm groove bit from an ebay seller, a bit big for I want to do. I just ordered the Inland 1mm bit from a local stained glass supply dealer, so I should be ready to try it out next week.

Yea, those are very good. Adrians' tutorial is fantastic, it has been a tremendous help to me also. I know what you mean about those darn toll marks!!

Congrats on your first grooves. They look great and I like the wire framing the cabs. it sets them off.
Copper may be too soft for this but since you tumble, there is a way to tumble wire wrapped pendants to remove any tool marks. I just don't know what the exact proceedure is. Maybe someone here does.

Mike: They look great, I think you will find using square or half round wire will really help, it takes some patience to get the grooves cut to the proper depth, Tony is still trying to figure some kind of marking system to get them even, they never are! Keep at it, they look great though! Amber

Hey I like those. I havn't tried grove wrap yet, the bails look great in copper. I will have to get some heavier wire, using 21 ga right now. Ed
