Over the past few weeks I've taken cut slabs - sanded and polished them by hand. I've done several of them and listed a few on my website for sale. This was the one which really caught my attention. It's already heading to a new owner but I think it's worth sharing. Nice black head with a bright red beak. Enjoy!

Nice one! What gets me is, how does that banding carry through two different colors? From black to red...looks like the banding doesn't change, the color simply does. WTH??? Interior agate formation is beyond me.

Your exactly right... The banding doesn't change at all - just the color influx. Mother Nature does some crazy stuff! Far more advanced that this pea brain can handle LMAO!
I actually see color changes often in the Thundereggs I mine. The photo I use for my avatar is the same way... Goes from a nice blue into the orange/red staining.
