How I love thee, let me count the ways...
I answered a listing on Craigslist and unlike previous ads, I actually feel I picked up a really good deal this time. I don't know where the gentleman had been storing these two pieces of equipment, but they are in pristine condition. I'm starting to think the saw's never even been used the more I dig into it!
Crown Lapidary grinder:
Front View
Label and water adjusters - still completely attached
Hood raised - you can tell the interior of the pan has been painted. That, the bit of rock snot at the top and on the wheels are the only signs of wear.
The thump-thump drum on the right side.
Currently it's set up with SiC and thump-thump drums, but those are quick and easy fixes. It rolls so smoothly!
10" Covington saw:
Saw top - ignore the 2x4 sitting on the vice. See last picture about that 2x4...
Front shield - Model No. 150, if that means anything, with the separate lubricant chamber and the lubricant control valve. There's patent pending all over the pieces of the saw...
Brand new blade - a Covington Super Segmented blade. All a lovely gold with red lettering.
(Liza's not too sure about that stuff - it says to mix it with Kerosene for the the lubricant in the saw. )
And then there's this random odd piece. It definitely goes with the saw (paint's a giveaway there), but it's attached to this 2x4 that has nails in it. I'm not too sure where it's supposed to go or do...
Anyway, I feel pretty lucky for $400. Now I can either trick out this Crown cabber and give to my niece (thus getting my cab machine back), or keep it for myself. Regardless, it means I'll be cabbing again soon!
