Hey everyone, I did a couple of wraps this week, and just figured I'd share..... as always . This first one is kyanite ( cab by TonyTerner ) wrapped in silver. 20ga dead soft with 24ga half hard. I've always liked the look of sitnwrap's pieces, so I kind of used her wraps as my inspiration on this one. Here it is.... I tried to make the bail ( binds at the top ) as small as possible, and I think I pulled it off. Also, I hid two of the wire ends in front of the bail to hide the binds even more ( I've done this on a few wraps now ). Heres a better view... and the back ( for all you rear end fans ), with a quarter.... And now for the second wrap...... My step-mother wants me to make some wraps to try selling at her salons ( she owns a couple of salons here in town ). So, she bought me some cheap ( inexpensive ) cabs from ebay..... now I just need to get them all wrapped, and figure out what a reasonable selling price would be ( I haven't the slightest idea ). This is the first one... The stone is sediment jasper ( really pretty blue, is it dyed? ), wrapped in the same wire as the above wrap. I think the design is pretty neat, dosen't use much wire ( 2 9" pieces and 1 11" ), and I wrapped it in just over an hour. So, I may do more like it...... The front.... And the back.... notice the angel wings? ( purely unintentional , but pretty neat ) Well, that's it for now..... let me know what you think.... Thanks, Chris

Chris, you really are talented! I am pretty sure that is dyed howlite but is is still very pretty! Your wraps are amazing and I suspect they will sell very well. You just need several to start out because buyers love a selection to get them motivated to separate from their money. As for a price, I have no idea. Is that sterling silver wire? Maybe Lori or someone that does sell their items can give you an idea about that. No matter, just keep up the great work! Fran

The kyanite wrap is very beautiful , love the shape. The second one is also a beauty, I rally klike how you tie it all together. And thanks for showing the back, for those of us that want to see the dark side.

I agree.... these are your best yet:) Love the Kyanite. The heart is wonderful and it will sell like hotcakes if you make some of them up for Valentine's day.

WTG Chris, just love 'em both. Figure how much wire you used first. Then figure how much that cost you. You should add for your time. Compare to the going rate online and consider how much people will pay. Then adjust as needed.
That should give you a starting point anyway. You always want to cover your cost of wire at the very least. Jo

Man Chris, These are gorgeous. I love those angels wings whether intended or not. The Kyanite is just so rich looking. So, how many wires are in the middle going across the stone? I have been staring at it for a while, it looks like several are woven, not plain twisted that I do. I'ld love to know so I can copy yours. lol.

Are those two middle wires turned in opposite directions and just next to eachother? The twists match so perfectly that they look woven. How did you match them like that?

Those wraps are wonderful pieces of art. Love them both. My 9 year old Grandson was real impressed also, He thought the kynite one looked like a knife and wanted to know if you planned it that way, he also liked the heart. Donna

Wow the Kyanite and silver are superb together. Love the way you wrapped the band across the middle. I like the second piece, but that first one is just outstanding.

Wow, thanks for the incredible encouragement guys..... Fran.... Yep, I need to get to wrapping... I've got 20 cabs like that heart in a few different shapes, most are the same stone as the heart ( different colors ) but there are a couple picture jaspers and a pretty little moss. Oh, and yes, it is sterling silver.... Randy.... Man, you always say that ;D..... lol moondragon... Hey, Valentine's Day, good point!!!! I didn't think about that... Lori.... Just 4 wires across the middle, same 4 as the bail. Strait- twisted- twisted- strait. The two middle wires are twisted in opposite directions, laying beside each other..... just like yours. lol.... so you want to copy my copy of yours?!?!?! ;Dlol Jo..... I just started keeping track of what I use, these were actually the first two. I figured I better start getting a little more serious ....AND... how do the twists match so perfectly, you ask? ..... uh... well... I....er.... Luck, I guess?!?! 8-)I think I just got lucky really. I just twisted the wire with a drill before I started the wrap, holding the wire in the middle, and twisted the ends in opposite directions. I just make sure each side has the same number of twists. Donna... We though the same thing here ( Kyanite looks like a knife )..... it was not intentional, it just came out that way..... be sure to show your grandson this ;D.... and tell him I said '" Thank you " Thank you all, again.... Chris

Wow Chris,
Amazing work!! it must be a gift. Any chance there is a tutorial in the future. It looked as though you had used the thicker silver on them. Like the king you use for bracelets.
Great Job.

Chris, these wraps are very different from others you've shown in the past. Incredible workmanship on theseones , especially the first blue kyanite. The braid work is a nice touch. Keep it coming!! Tom and Debby

Another great pair Chris. Your wrapping skills are out of this world. I love seeing what you come up with. One the kyanite I like the way the wires that cross the cab look like they are woven. Neat effect. The heart is beautiful too. Good luck with the salons.

Lovely wraps as always Chris! AS far as pricing goes...consider your customer base. If it is more high end, then definitely use silver and unusual stones...if not high end, then I'd probably use very little silver and go with copper or the new artistic wire with less expensive stones. I too think you need a selection with different price ranges. Keep track of what sells the best too. Good luck...you are very talented and should do well.
