Hi everyone, thanks for looking. My friend brought this rock over today to see if I wanted to cut it up. After I wiped up the drool I declined. He was cleaning up an estate yard and they told him he could have the pile of rocks. He is bringing more tomorrow for me to see, So what is this work of art. The pictures do not show the flourescent orange that shows on the rock and I did check its not paint. What do you think this might be. Sorry the pics are so large, Thanks all, BeLinda

That formation in agate is called "Angel Wing". Several locations in the Pacific Northwest, Keegan Ranch, Ochocos etc have those formations and the Bull Canyon beds are famous for a very colorful variety. A good variety is found around Graveyard Point too which might be where your example comes from. When cut, they often reveal very good plumes and or tube structures...Mel

Thank you Mel for the id. It is so pretty I am not going to cut it. If he does not come back and get it- its going on my fireplace hearth lol. Waiting to see what he brings next.
Lol Snuffy so true but around her I am called the egg lady ( I have fresh chicken eggs for sale)

Reminds me of cave formations from down in New Mexico. Love them.

I love the "Angel Wing" nickname, so fitting. If there is another smaller piece, maybe you could cut that one and see what it is like. I'm with you, I couldn't cut it either. Jo

Amazing stuff!
It looks like frozen fire.
I'm waiting to see what your friend brings over next. Those estate sales could have anything!
