Washington State and the Dakotas (see other thread) are the next three states I'll be requesting images for.
`After these three states, I will be moving over into Florida, Alabama, and Georgia.
We are now requesting images of material from the great state of Washington for this thread. The images can be of rough, polished specimens, cabs, or tumbled stones. If you have any that you're willing to share, please post with a brief note on the region and its common name (if it has one.) Credit for the photo will be assigned to your name or online title (or not at all if that's your choice.)
Any material that fits under the heading agate/jasper is welcome to be posted here, even if it is from lesser known locations.
A sample of some of the better known agates/locations we're hoping to have provided are: carnelian Saddle Mountain Red Top Mountain Agate Ellensburg Agate and many many more but it doesn't have to be from these places.
There are many places I've not mentioned that would be readily known to people outside the state. We'd love to see sample of these. If in doubt, POST!

Rough Moss Agate, (Mt. Saint Helens Red) I got from a very old gal in southern Washington my last trip up. She said it was from nearby. One of our local RTH members suggests this form of Washington moss is found at Quartz Creek , a tributary of the Lewis River on the slope of Mt. St. Helens.

Bump for easier access.
I am updating the Agate Indexes.
If you have anything to add, please do so here.

:)Hello, This is Greenwater Agate I found on the White River just out side of Greenwater Washington. When I found it the edges were much like you would find jasper. They were jagged and a little sharp. I brought it to my rock and gem club and used the trim saw to get the ruff edges off and then I went to grinding and polishing it. I truly love it. it has some nice banding in it and the two colors are truly complimentary to each other. I keep it in my window sill in my kitchen to admire it. I will be going again soon to take another look, however I will be looking at the collection site listed at this address: www.findingrocks.com/cgi-bin/printlocation.cgi?location_id=192
