I have my Model B running with my first batch of most everything I could find to put in it. I have agates, quartz, smooth river rocks that I have no idea what they are, the mystery rock that is posted here ...they are all tumbling. A lot of the rocks were already smooth and now look different after 24 hours of tumbling...should the really smooth ones be taken out untill the next phase of tumbling ?? I am currently using 60 - 90 grit in my model b.
Thanks Dwight P

yes smooth river rock can start at 220 if your happy with the size and shape and there is no pitting ... My experience with it is if you tumble it at 60-90 you end up with something quite different than what you started with ie. it will remove some of the color and expose a completly different rock than you picked out of the river bed :'(and it was... what the rock originally looked like that made you grab it. hope this helps hurk
