Picked this up at the Estate Sale a few months ago. Looked at it again and though it really doesn't exactly match / look like AZ wood. Please help if you can give an ID. Thanks Lowell Interior View of outer edge.

Lowell, Can't tell in the pic if it's opalized or agatized. Normally, those bright reds are associated with the color rich sediments of the Morrison or Chinle formations. I don't recognize the patterns at all and would think most all the actual wood pattern has been replaced and you're dealing with a replacement of partially decomposed wood. I'd still guess Arizona, Utah, or Colorado as the best guess on origin because of the intense reds often associated with the sediments in those areas. Most wood from those areas is agatized while lots of the colorful Nevada wood tends to be opalized with less reds but that's a very general statement.....Mel
