Jamie and Rodney had me rockhound in their yard. O MY GOD. What rocks they have. I think my favorite piles were the chrysys and the t eggs. As we were picking through the piles, Rodney comes over with two heart shaped boxes filled with chocolates. Now I tell you, I was already smiling amidst all that rock and that smile went way past ear to ear seeing the chocolates. The box was empty before the rock picking was done. ;D
The next day Jamie took me out to hunt my own t eggs, seam agate and a little plume (if we were lucky). We parked in an area that obviously is a favorite for hunters because there were spent shells all over the place. To a newbie, that made me a little nervous but my trust in Jamie overcame my concerns. She unloaded the quad and away we went.
We started down 13 mile wash (I think that is what she called it), but boy, we rode like 5xs more than 13 miles. Up and down and side to side. We were across from Lake Pleasant and Man, what a view.
She was looking for the path to the highway but we kind of took detours and she even quaded through woods with a stream. Looked a bit like home. A couple times we had to duck under big branches. I couldn’t help it, it was automatic, I was pushing her head down further and covering her eyes so the branches wouldn’t get her. It didn’t occur to me that she couldn’t see until she said something. LMAO.
Several times she got off to “scout” the paths and the landscape and she bumped into some wild donkeys who loudly brayed “hello”
By the time we got to the path that we needed, it was late in the day. I didn’t care because I was having just too much fun. We hopped on the highway for about 2 miles that brought us to the path for seam agate

I was watching the sky and the dark clouds. She kept telling me it was far away but then I felt drops. She told me it wasn’t rain. I wasn’t convinced YET. So we geared up to go for the t eggs. At this point I discovered that I lost my phone and had to make a decision, waste time looking for the phone or go get eggs. So, Amber, if a Jack Ass calls you, you know the donkeys got into my contact list.
HEE HAW Lol
No more pics at this point but when I spotted my first egg, I called out to Jamie that she was right, it wasn’t raining, just someone tappin on my head.
Last pic before leaving
I still pinch myself as it all seems surreal. I can’t say enough about Jamie and Rodneys warmth, hospitality, and friendship. Rodney was cutting rock for me up until minutes before I left.
Jamie and Rodney, you made me feel so welcome and comfortable. I had such a blast and I will be telling these wonderful and funny stories for years to come. Thank you for everything. You two are the best!
