Dang, quite an awesome set. The Royal Imperial and Carey plume are my favorites. Very nice work.

Wow those are all gorgeous. I have never seen Apache Rhyolite - so interesting. Where is that from if you don't mind my asking?

I have to agree with Mary Ann, great pics! Do you use a lightbox set up? Also what type of camera do you use?

Thanks everyone. The Apache Rhyolite comes from New Mexico and can sometimes be a pain to shine up, but this one did nicely.
I don't use a light box in the traditional sense. I made a 3 sided enclosure, set up 2 permanent fixed lights and us 2 other lights that I can move around as needed. The back of my box is rounded toward the front so looking from the side, it looks like a quarter oval. I used a flourescent light diffuser panel and wound up covering the inside of it with black material because there was too much reflection off the cabs and you can see the bound barrel of my lens in the cabs, like in the obsidian pics above. I use a Sony DSC H1, bought it when they first came out with this series. I use a tripod and set the Aperture manually. I found that I get more real colors by using the frosted glass as the background as opposed to using a black background.

Stoner, we need to make a rule...you can't stay away so long because when you post infrequently, I go into sensory overload!!! You have beautiful material here but the amazing artistry you have is in bringing out the best in a stone! I love them all! Fran
