I finally got my "new" covington vibratory lapper up and running after a few days of restoration from its all-covering dried slurry bath it was soaked in prior to me adopting (rescuing?) it. I started running it yesterday afternoon with a piece of faced utah wonderstone and a cube of owyhee jasper that was a sphere preform at my local-ish lapidary shop. I have a question about slurry, as I haven't really been too up-close-and-personal with it in my tumbler barrels as I am on an open pan on this tool. Overnight I turned it off since I couldn't monitor the slurry, so when I woke up this morning I added water and turned it on again. The slurry has turned foamy and is expanding to almost the edge of the pan. I don't think it will go over unless I add more water? My question, is the foamy consistency normal and desirable or is it a sign of too much or too little water? I have it in a 220 grit right now. I attached a picture of the slurry to show what I'm talking about. Thanks for the help!

Way too wet you just want to keep it wet enough to move the rocks around. Keith
