Okay, I just had to brag about my motor score last night: 1 HP, 1750 RPM, Capacitor Start, Continuous Duty, Dual Voltage, Reversible in excellent condition (from a furnace blower) for $25!
Woohoo!
I've been running my 8" HP cabber with a 1/2 HP motor, which has been a little under powered for the job. Now I can swap it out for the new motor and use the old one to build a high speed sander (3450 RPM).

Make sure it doesn't say "continuous air over". One horse, capacitor start would turn a pretty good size cab unit or saw.

Thanks, John. Yes, I checked before I bought it, plus it was mounted on the box that contained the squirrel cage (so no air over). I managed to bog down the 1/2 horse, so I'm expecting this one not to bog down at all.
I may even add a super grinder.
