Diane was driving through Salt Lake on her way home to Montana and I was able to spend a few hours with her...meeting her and doing a Rock Exchange. She is a very Nice Gal...very easy to talk to. She showed me her wraps which are much nicer in person and she showed me the few slabs she picked up in Quartzite. Too bad I didn't have a full day I would have taken her hiking up in the mountains to do some mine exploring and cliff climbing!!! Anyways...here's a few of the goodies I recieved from her. Thanks so Much Diane!!! I appreciate it very much. The Whole Bunch....Some Burro Creek from the Bash, Jaspers, Agates, Amethyst and Unknowns(picked up at Quartzite) Some little Agate and Jasper nodules. looking forward to cutting them up! A cool little piece of Amethyst. I think she got this from Sheri. Some Cool Green unknowns. They almost resemble Morrisonite. The larger one has some great shades of purple. Some Agate/Jasper she collected along the river in Bullhead City. Almost got shot for it... ;D Thanks Again Diane. I hope you made it home safely. It was very nice meeting you! Steve

Darn it Steve! :nono: You were supposed to tie her up and mail her back to Arizona! ;D I did not want her to leave! How 'bout we all tell her how yucky Montana is and she needs to come back to Arizona!

It's funny...a Griz and a Cat (the two major Montana college teams) will fight amongst themselves in our own state...but take them out of Montana, and we'll defend each other to no end. Come home Diane! And tell me where I can find some of this kewl green unknown stuff can be found! It looks similar to some stuff that I've found over here on the west side, but it looks more translucent. You definitely got some pretty stuff!

Sorry Sheri.....Nobody told me that! I think she really missed her pine trees....although I would have stayed in Arizona just another month or so myself. Montana is still a little chilly! revco....I think she mentioned that the green jasper stuff she bought in Quartzite and I don't think the seller even knew much about it. Steve

What can I say, hmmmm. You guys are all sweet, crazy, amazing people. You are welcome Steve. I enjoyed the rock exchange and the conversation too. Maybe next trip I can lure you into the mountains Yes, I made it home safely. The amethyst was from some I found last year but Sheri did give me some similar stuff. Hope that rock turns out to be worth risking my life for ;D Sheri, it was fun but what can I say, I like Montana. Arizona is too hot in the summer plus I did miss the pine trees. I doubt Steve could have found a box big enough to send me back anyway... I don't think they make flat rate boxes that big...lol. revco, Steve is right, I got that green jasper stuff from a dealer in Quartzsite who had no idea where it came from or what it is called. Sounds like you need to show me some good spots over there. I have collected mostly specimens from field trips with the local rock club. Amber, thank you, you are a sweetie too. By the way, check out the new thread I'm going to post now for the rest of the story on the Utah meeting Diane

Thank you Mary Ann. It was nice meeting you too. Come on up here the weather is great in the summer, definitely not as hot as AZ. Hope that green jasper holds up for Steve at least for him to get some cabs. Sorry yours broke up.
Thank you beef, I'm glad I got to meet you too. You are a sweetie, thanks again for the goodie bags you gave us there.
