Howdy folks, Wildflower time is just starting here in the Texas hill country. These are a few of the early bird flowers in my backyard. Thanks for looking....Mel What the hill country is famous for, Blue Bonnets. These are all over the yard and much darker blue than in these broad pics: Closer shot of the blue bonnets to show true color and a beautiful Texas paintbrush: Scarlet Clover. This one survives only inside of the deer fence cause it's a favorite food of deer , mouflon, and blackbuck. Yellow columbine:

Very nice pictures, reminds me of spring for sure. I lived in Texas for a few years and remember the bluebonnets all over the place. No wildflowers for us here yet but it's still early. Thanks for sharing the pics.
