Hi all, I just wanted to let people know that my new book on collecting rocks, gems, & minerals is now available at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble bookstores, & at my newly renovated website/store, agategrrrl.comI will also be selling a variety of rock-related products, including some rough and cut material, cabs, beads, etc. I will also be hosting a free contest each month for some really nice rock prizes. The site is still somewhat under construction, but is in the process of being brought up to speed, & should be complete by the beginning of May. Check it out & rock on!

Thanks crossfirebusiness, one of my hats is being a web designer & feedback is always good. It is still a work in progress & I'm hoping to have everything up & running by May. I try to make my sites as user friendly as possible - did you find it easy to navigate?

I really like your site. I can tell you put a lot of work into the layout and design. It's fun, colorful, interactive and not to busy (i don't like sites that are to cluttered). I also like the gallery section where you scroll the mouse over the stone to show the full photo to the right. It's a super marketing idea to get guests/customers on a mailing list with a monthly give away. Keeps people coming back to see what's next and gives them some time to shop. Great job and hope you are successful. If there's ever a day I might need a site I'd like it to be like yours.

Thanks for the kind words spokanetim & bejewelme. The book was indeed a monumental effort & took almost a year to write & photograph. So far, people seem to be very happy with it though, thank God! You just never know how something like that will turn out - you can only do your best & hope for a good result! Spokanetim, be sure to let me know if you need any kind of help setting up your website - I'd be happy to help you in any way I can.

Ms Agategrrrl: Wow I absolutely love the the Quartz Page on your website. My wife and I have been looking at the different forms of quartz and are delighted to our bones. Alot of the odd and rare forms of crystals we have found here in Georgia at two locations. We have always found odd forms for about 10 years now. It has been dry here for about 3 weeks now and is to rain tomorrow. So this weekend we will be at the one of the locations with our eyes glued to the ground and if we are real lucky find a seam of the rock crystal. We love the info at the site. Thanks Still Digging in the Dirt, Frank and Linda (Mr and Mrs GaRock)

Mr & Mrs garocks, You are so lucky to live in an area where you can find such rare material. I love crystal quartz in all its forms too. There is an area in southern AZ where I have found beautiful crystals (singles & plates) with odd forms & unusual inclusions, such as large pyrite flakes. I envy you your trip this weekend! Have a great time & I hope you find tons of beautiful quartz!

Hey Agategrrrl, Nice to have a neighbor on this forum. I bought your book at the gem and mineral club meeting Tuesday. It is a beautiful book. Very nice photos and lots of information. Everyone should have one.
