I think you'll need a bigger sled and a bigger doggie to get those bigguns, Woody. LOL Love seeing the colorful wood and the Pigeon Blood in it's natural setting. That lizard has a funky necklace! Thanks Woody. Jo

Beautiful wood, and the pigeon blood agate looks like great cabbing material. A buddy of mine used his elk sled to haul out a 93 pound block of Bruneau jasper yesterday. He said it worked great. The problem is finding a saw big enough to cut those monster rocks. Don

Amazing stuff ... and so plentiful. Like so many remote locations, it's not about what you find, it's about what you can actally haul out. Too bad you don't have a buddy with a helicopter.
Darryl.

The size problem is the rules set by BLM that only allow twenty five pounds plus one piece of pet wood per day with no more than 250 pounds per year. We saw quite few that could be measured by the ton. Pet wood weighs around 170 pounds per cubic foot.
The Pigeon Blood agate site near Green River was covered with agate like the photograph for about half a mile by 100 yards........and so dense in the ground one could not get a shovel in the ground. Woody

Beautiful Shots You Two! Glad you had a Safe Trip and from the looks of it very productive. I love the shots with the big Mtns in the background....the Henry's! It was very good to meet both of You two. If you ever meet either one of these folks...gotta say...Super Nice People! I wish I could be more of a host...but my house these days are not too pleasant. Woody did bring me a bucketful of the Maury Mtn Moss that he found and posted pics of. Thanks Again. When you get back down this way keep in touch. I'm headed down to the Henry's in June...might have to take that pic along so I can find the good hunting grounds. Steve

Great shots Woody. Man there is a lot of pet wood and pigeon blood there. Was the wood in the Henry Mountains? I can't wait to get back to southern Utah, its the prettiest place on the planet.
