A question for my Canadian buddies. Recently purchased grit, etc. from local rock shop and these were the prices: pellets (300G) - $3.45; cerium oxide (1lb.) - $12.95 Lortone Abrasive Kit (4 step) - $23.95
How do these prices compare to where you buy? (I'm on Vancouver Island) If you purchase from a less expensive place, can you please let me know where?
Thanks bundles!

I just got into this and am fortunate cuz there's a place in Calgary (where I live) that has great supplies. Check it out. I think the price you paid is about the same - I bought the grit kit and it costs about 22.50 for all 4 cycles. Knowledgeable people run the stores and they have great tumbling supplies. www.greenslapidary.com/pages/default.aspGood luck!

Looking back at the last bill i got from western gem and mineral suplies it was $30.00 and consisted of 2lbs #60-90 , 2lbl #220 ,2lbs #400 ,1lbs alumina oxide polish... the cerium oxide price is close to what i pay... the Thumblers 4 stage that I have here in front of me which has 4oz, 4oz, 2 oz and 2oz polish is $12.50 hope this helps .....HURK

Thanks Skipper for the info...I checked out the site and the prices are comparable.
Hurk, I know you are from this area...what are you paying for grit, etc. I found a rock shop in Courtney so have been dealing with them so far. Said I could bring my "finds" in any time and they would help identify them.
Does anyone have pics of beach rock they can post...before and after photos would be helpful. I'm new to this so need all the help I can get!!!
Thanks a bunch.

Thanks Hurk...that was quick!!
I think I'll order next batch of grit from your source.
Do you have any pics you can post here, or email me as I know we are probably tumbling the same kind of rocks.
