I have sold a few cabs, but this groove wrapped pendant was the first pendant not gifted to someone.
I recently donated a groove-wrapped ocean jasper cab with a sterling silver chain to my daughter's school for a silent auction. I now wish I had taken a picture of the pendant
I met the couple who made the high bid at the school's Open House - their daughter is in the same class as my daughter. They plan on giving it to the husband's mom as a birthday present.
I asked if more than one bid was made (so it wasn't a mercy bid LOL). They said that they bid 3 times to make sure they won the pendant. Now I am not sure if the wrap sold for 10 dollars or a 100 dollars. I would like to think the winning bid was somewhere in between - hopefully closer to $100! I didn't think it would be polite to ask what was the winning bid.
The funny part is the wife's dad taught at my old high school. In fact, I knew the dad/teacher as his son was in my old Boy Scout troop. Talk about a small world!

That's a great way to get people familiar with your work. And you never know what might generate future sales. Congratulations. I always feel sorry for the people who donate stuff for silent auctions and no one bids on it. So far every painting or print I donated got sold.
Small world yes. I donated a painting for a silent auction and the lady who bought it turned out to be a member of my rock club when I joined 2 years later. She still remembered me.

That was really nice of you. I think donations for worthwhile causes are great and good exposure so congrats.
If really curious, you could probably ask the person who was in charge of the auction.

Wow, definitely a small world. Glad the wrap went to someone who really wanted it and the money went to a good cause. In my book the fact that they bid three times means a lot.
