well turns out it was not crazy lace so i bought it any way its 75lbs....also picked up 15 slabs of Flame Agate got it all for $60.00 maybe i paid to much i don't know but i like it ;D thanks for looking....Brian

Love that flame agate, but hope you have a BIG saw for the amethyst lace.

i can't wait until you cut that amethyst lace. i bought some and had so much trouble getting it to polish. I'm thinking i did something wrong..... let me know how yours works out.

Looks like a nice rock, and at less than $1 per pound plus neat slabs, I'd say you did good!

I think you got a good deal Brian, that flame agate looks nice, and the lace, I use cerium on amethyst with pretty good results as long as it doesn't get to hot and crack

The lace is extremely similar to Sowbelly agate ( named as it resembles the bacon mountain men carried -sowbelly ) The best source I know of is in Creed Colo. at the Last Chance Mine - they have a website. The large silver vein is called the amathyst vein and is composed of white agate amathyst and silver. Realy hard to work with - ask rockmanken - he has tried several times and has been able to get some good cabs and knife handles but lots fall apart . I assume it is because the amathyst is not a complete crystal but lots of little ones. I am leading a field trip there in late JUlY. Dicky
