Hi Rock Stars Yesterday, I did my very first wrap and wanted to share. This is a piece of Koi Jasper (I couldn't resist) that I cabbed a few days ago. I used copper wire as I'm not yet confindent enough to use the more expensive stuff, and it looked nice with this stone. Kind of "by the book", but I hope to learn more techniques and apply some creativity of my own as I progress. I call this one "Gin Rin Showa" after the koi fish variety. Thanks! Bill

That's one of the best first wraps that I've seen, looks more like an experienced wrap. Very nice! Everything looks clean and tight, an the Koi jasper cab is beautiful. Great job!!

That is one heck of a first wrap. You did great! Those bindings are hard to get the hang of but I think you've got that mastered already. I look forward to seeing more of your wraps.

The cab you did is breathtaking and I doubt that any other style wrap would be as perfect for the cab as that one. You may have used Copper for other reasons but I think that wire compliments the stone beautifully. Your are obviously a natural.

Thanks folks... I appreciate the kind words.
Been busy here with work. However, I've been reading Randy's tutorial, and so am anxious to try and incorporate some his ideas on my next one.
Regards, Bill

I think you'd better race out and get yourself some sterling silver wire, .7mm Square and 1mm x 0.5 half round for the wraps, please dont ask me to convert that to a guage, i'm an Aussie! Great first wrap!!!

Your first wrap looks very good. Your wire design accents the stone for a very nice configuration. Debby & Tom
