So I was working on a wrap last night. A teeny tiny adorable triangle of bright pink Rhodochrosite wrapped in sterling. It was almost finished. It was perfect! It was adorable! And then..........PLOP!.......a big chunk of the cab fell out. ARRGGGHHH!!!!! I know I jinxed myself. Dennis had been working on a particularly tiny cab and he dropped it on the lap and it took off flying. I told him we needed to get the "cab o gone" thread going again for cabs that break while we are working with them. And then, this happens. LOL Oh well, I can salvage the wire. I traced the shape of the broken cab on a piece of paper so we can make a cab of the same size and still use the wire. Shan

Guess gluing it back together is out of the question... yep, we need a thread to share our woes, LOL. Glad you can rebuild. Jo

That stinks. I've dropped cabs I've been wrapping but so far no causalities thank goodness.

Oh, that really sucks! I have one I need to go out and take a picture of. Got it to the 3rd wheel and slipped with it. I guess I will post that in a little while. Hey, when I click on the eggs, no matter how many times, it doesn't seem to do anything. I get to that site but it doesn't change the numbers. I did notice that Wolf's egg looks like it has cracks in it now, more so than it did about an hour ago. Fran

Well the beautiful bright pink rhodo I just made from Fran, Tony dropped on the floor and broke, he felt so bad, but thank goodness it was a clean break and he glued it and you can't tell, it was the brightest pinkest cab! I still remember when I dropped the bag of finished cabs on the tile and broke 5 that I had made at Tony's before I had my machine, that sucked! I hate when cabs break.

OK, here is one I did. I just finished grinding it through the first two wheels and had problems getting scratches out so I threw it in the vibe for a few hours with some other stuff. Pulled it, dopped it, worked it through to starting on the 3rd wheel and it flew off the dop and hit me. I tried to catch it but hit it instead and I still haven't found the missing piece. It has so many cracks now, I think it is a gonner. Fran

Oh man...... that hurts big time. I recently had a drop-dead gorgeous piece of boulder opal break into 3 pieces as I worked it on the 100.000 lap. Broke me heart. Will take pics later. I'm hoping to save the biggest piece. jo

I was wrapping a very small cab with turquoise in it last night. My first turquoise. In Sterling silver. It was looking very nice too. As I got to the bail wires, the cab just split in two large pieces and a bunch of tiny ones. I wanted to cry, but cussed instead. Oh well, that's life?
