Those are great finds. What little I know of swamps, they hold lots of treasures with few who go to look for them.
That's a really cool pattern in the fourth and fifth pic.

You carry in 3 gallons of water and 2 gallons of mosquito repellent? Looks like it would be worth it.

I just use a bottle of skin so soft and have my turkey hunting face mask, which is a net over the head, thsats what I sleep out there too, lol. I ALWAYS wear long sleeve shirts digging the swamp. My spot was about 15 yards from the water and I had a bull gator doing his mating call right there

I guess gators are like bears. You don't have to be able to out run them. You just have to out run the people with you. We went to the Everglades a few times and I was surprised at how docile they are. According to Hollywood they are worse than Jaws.

they are there was anopther gator attack on Fl yesterday, at Silver springs where they do the glass bottom boat tours. A researcher was collecting water samples and was bitten on the head and shoulder area by a 10 ft gator, the bote broke his jaw. Thats the same place years ago a froup on a glass bottom boat watched a diver attacked and killed right under their boat. thesee gators are everywhere, I see them all the time diving, if they are over 6 ft I leave the area

This is probably a stupid question but do you think: those arrowheads/points might have been used to hunt gators?
o probably smaller game don't want to piss off a gator :nono:

I know they were, I had a site I dug or awhile that me and my buddy found preserved animal bone, this site was a huge lake midden site, again very shallow with iron rocks and it floods every year, thats what leads to this bone preservation, very rare to find in Fl. with our acidic soils, I have found 5 of those sites and gave 3 the Archs, these are all Woodland sites with the point types found with them.
I`ll see if I can find the frame I put some animal bones in it, it has some smaller gator scutes and jaw, we found alot of bone and most were deer ,turtle and gator
