Hi everyone! These days we had a trip in the mountains. The weather was not perfect, but still good compared to what we had these days (rain, rain and rain again) Here are some pictures... well, a lot of them. A cascade; the rainy weather had this good side - the cascades were more plentiful than usual; notice the sheep in the left side: The same heard of sheep, crossing the road: The same road: The glacial valley where the road goes through: It was COLD! (2 degrees celsius means some 35 F) And, no wonder about the cold, with so much snow around: This is the glacial lake at the peak point of the road (some 2050 meters above sea level) Then we descended on the other side of the mountains: A nice cascade runs there: A little more descending... ... and we reached a big reservoir. With so many rains, the lake was full and we were hoping we would see the water running over the spillway. But, the lake was still some 5 feet empty, so no overtopping... On the crest of the dam there's a bungee jumping trampoline: Of course we didn't take the plunge, but pictured the view a jumper could have while falling: Then, a bit further, we visited a cool monastery, which was dug in a rock wall in 14th century: It's amazing that the church is still in use. Thanks for looking, Adrian

Absolutely breathtaking! What are the structures built right into the mountains in the 12th pic from the bottom? Brrrrr... that looks cold.... you didn't happen to see a crazy looking skinny guy on a bike sporting a British flag riding around in circles up in those mountains, didja? LOL

Thank you all. Jo, no I didn't spot John on that road, LOL! Those structures are on the road, a sort of protection against rocks which might fall on the road. Here is a couple of pictures of such structures: Adrian

Wow! Thank you for the tour through some very beautiful country. The road looks like it would be a lot of fun descending on a bike. Woody

Great scenery. Looks like you have to go 20 miles to get one mile on that twisting road. Amazing that the roses and flowers are blooming and it that cold. Ken

Such beautiful country up in those mountains. That road is something else. Hard to believe there is still that much snow at this time of year. Of course my favorite pics are the first few, the ones with the electrical transmission towers. Thanks for posting these, we gotta get to visit you some time.
