I couldn't find any rocks in TN, so I bought some... Don't really know the names though... Pretty sure they're not local rocks... I'm pretty sure the upper right one is mahogany obsidian. I also picked up some slag just for fun. Later, jeri

I agree on upper right - obsidian. Lower left looks like jasper. Upper left amazonite? Not sure on the other.

You couldn't find rocks in TN ? TN. is loaded with beautiful agates, jasper, fossils and mineral specimens. The paint rock from TN makes beautiful cabs. Next time you plan a trip like that, ask for help from our members to suggest locations. Do this a couple of weeks before leaving on your trip, and you'll have more luck finding nice material for tumbling or cabbing. The lower left rock may be a piece of paint rock. At least the colors are right for it. Don

I could put you in touch with a guy on another wiki who could tell you all about TN. He's a mining engineer who's work takes him all over the U.S. and Canada. He spends most of his free time collecting in the areas he's working in. Don
