I didn't get to play much with rocks this weekend because I had to make some preserves. I had gotten some strawberries and blueberries and made a berry butter (no butter in it, just the smooth spreadable texture) and got it all canned. After cooking it all down in a huge pot and mashing it, I ran it all through a food mill. Then I could go to a smaller large pot to cook it down for about 4 hours. The house really smelled good! Here it is in the simmering pot to cook down And the final results ;D Now, if I can get through this next week, I may have a little time to spend on rocks. thanks for looking! Fran

Well, 3 weeks ago I picked all the peaches off the tree and made spiced peach butter. Saw the berries and just had to make some! I miss having a large garden and hopefully I will get one all planned out for next year. (Have to fence it to keep deer out). Just one of my fun things I love to do besides play with rocks ;D Fran

Fran, that stuff looks delicious! I made blueberry ice cream last night, but I don't think it would compare!

Fran - Neat to see that you have time for jam with your rock addiction. It's not easy boiling that stuff up in the heat of summer. I finished my strawberry and raspberry, but we are now into blueberry season, so it's not over yet.

My wife just made preserves for the first time a few weeks back, so I know how much work goes into them. Nice.
