I saw an ad on craigslist. So I called and set up a time to meet. The gentleman said it was some things that his aunt had collected.
We ended up talking for quite a while. His aunt was geologist. When I got back home, I googled her name and found a memorial write up about her. It is long but worth reading.

these are some of the things that were in the collection..
Fossils: There was a list that came with it but most of the numbered tags were missing
This was listed as Denmark - Sea urchin
Black Horn coral?
Some kind of fossilized clam
I don’t know if this is a fossil or a tool. It felt really comfortable in my hand and I could imagine using it as a shovel/ scooper
Tools:
Maybe flint or chert??? Sure looks like a scraper/awl to me and it is very comfortable to grasp
I’m not even sure this is a tool but the ridge and angles seem like it was made with a purpose
Definitely a tool but I don’t know exactly what it was used for. I’ve been holding it this way and that. Also, I’m not sure if it is a left hand or the right hand tool
Minerals:
This looks like garnet. Someone picked the big one out and left the small one in but the small wouldn’t look so small if that crater wasn’t there. Lol
I have no clue. 1st pic is dry, 2nd is wet and it is pretty heavy
Obsidian????This looks like a wave that solidified as it was cresting. It is clear and inside the crest looks like a thin book of mica via my loupe.
2097
Looks like a petrified nut or bean/pea pod to me but could be rock.
I usually check craigslist every day for rockhound items in my area but they are few and far between so I really felt lucky when I came across this. I’d love any Id that can be offered.
Thanks
Lori
