Hi, folks, I'm a noob here so I don't want to hop right in with my hand out asking for money. Instead, I'm thinking, let's try some swaps and see how it goes. I have a major problem with lack of space. Therefore, I don't want to trade weight for weight. I want to ship out a big box and get a little box back. I realize I'll be paying more for postage than the other guy, and I don't care. It's worth it to me to make some space and maybe get some nice SMALLER items.
This first lot is approx. 22 pounds of what was sold to me as Smoky Quartz tumbling rough. Despite being called "tumbling rough," it's pretty big fist-sized pieces. If you want to tumble it, you need a way to make it smaller first. Most of it, I sold as individual pieces on eBay or at rock shows to metaphysical folks. It will need some cleaning if you want to do that. I didn't bother to photograph the material wet. I figure everybody here knows what Smoky Quartz is. I just photo'd what is in the box to give you the general idea...
I *think* the material wholesales around $2 a pound, but I'm not up on current prices, do your own research. It looks like the cost to me to ship a medium flat rate postage box is $11.50 -- flat rate postage plus delivery confirmation. I wanted to make it where somebody could turn it around and make a profit if they wished. So I'm thinking if you have a small $10 item of finished smoky quartz, maybe a small wand, a marble, a large tumbled massage stone, or ? you tell me ? we could do a swap. If your item is small enough, you can probably ship it first class to my Louisiana address, and we'd be even. But your cost out of pocket for the postage would be minimal.
Just tell me what you have that you would like to swap, maybe with a quick photo...keeping in mind that I'm looking more for small finished items or specimens.
If anyone knows me from the eBay days, then they know that I shipped all over the world. However, right now, I just can't do that. Please U.S. trades ONLY. Maybe later when I get a little more time and energy...I think that Smoky Quartz is a bit too inexpensive to be worth shipping all over the world anyway, right?
Since I'm a noob and expect I'll be shipping first, so you can receive your item before you send anything, it would be a nice gesture if you told me any references. If you're a frequent seller/buyer here or on eBay, no harm in letting me know. I am "peachfront" on eBay with 100% positive feedback but my references are pretty old, since I let years go by without selling. That's the best I can offer until I get re-established again.
I hope I'm offering a great deal to the right person who can use this material.
Oh, one more thing, I would like to ship the item out on or before the morning of Friday, August 27, if possible.
