so I took him in and gave him some warmth. He must have been a little shook up with the little cooler weather we had today. Our mountain tops got a little dusting of the white stuff. I took a couple pics cuz I've never seen a Dragonfly with these colors. Most of the ones I see are very colorful. BTW...he must have gotten warm and flew on his way. He's no longer out in the rock shed. Steve

Geez Steve that thing is horrible today at work I just got in was on my cell and sat down at my desk and felt something moving up my leg very fast, I looked down and screamed bloody murder, LOL, I knocked it off me and it was running around under my desk! It was a centipede they are horrible, like scorpions, I work with all men and who killed it but the only other older woman in the building, LOL! I think the men were more afraid of my screaming! Here is a pic, my skin has been crawling all day! I hate bugs!!!

Sheeesh Amber....Thats way more meaner looking than my harmless little guy. I'd have crapped my pants if that thing was skirting up my leg...DANG!!! Different than any centipede I see around here too. Steve

Very cool dragonfly, maybe one of the saddleback group. I really like that group of insects! I'm still learning my dragonfiles and man there are a bunch down here in Texas. House centipedes are gross and can bite pretty hard too I hear. Plus those puppies are fast. Not my favorite group of critters at all. My striped bark scorpion kill count is up to 76 so far this season.....Mel

What a beautiful dragonfly! Now, those I can live with but Amber, I would have been screeching just as much as you were while trying to stomp that thing! It is ugly!!! Fran

I agree with Amber about the centipede, but the dragonfly is awesome. We have a pond and when I am out fishing the dragonflies and damselflies land on both me and my rod. They are a real treat. I don't recall seeing any with so little color as yours but then I have never brought any in the house. Thanks for introducing us to your friend. Tanya
